It’s no secret that there are a lot of celebrity couples who find it difficult to cultivate deep and meaningful relationships. Sometimes, it even comes to a point when fans and netizens would just anticipate their break up and divorce. However, couples like Robin Padilla and Mariel Rodriguez has proven to us that it is not impossible for showbiz personalities to stand the test of time.
Who would have thought that they have been together for a total of seven years already? They may have a huge age gap, but they surely have found a home in each other’s arms.
Recently, during her guest appearance on the morning talk show, “Magandang Buhay”, Mariel recounted how her love story with Robin started. After watching and hearing the story of Robin during his guesting on the show last December 5, Mariel denied the claim of her husband that she courted him. Instead, she shared her own version of the story.
“It was the birthday of Tita Cory Vidanes, in one of her birthdays. It was Tita Linggit Tan, sabi niya sa akin ‘May boyfriend ka ba? Gusto ka ni Robin’ sinabi niya sa akin kaagad.”

Nevertheless, Mariel affirmed Robin’s story that she used to give him letters when he guested as a host on the now-defunct Kapamilya noontime show “Wowowee”, where they first met back in 2010. She shared that she used to attach sticky notes on Robin’s dressing room with the message “Please stay. Have a wonderful day”.

Looking back on that magical moment, Mariel revealed that she felt “kilig” when teased with Robin. She admitted that since then, she developed romantic feelings for the action star.
“In fairness kay Robin, siya lang talaga yung kayang magpakilig ng ganun sa isang babae at proven yun.”
Presently, the couple is happily married and are now doting parents to their one-year-old daughter Maria Isabella. They tied the knot at the historic Taj Mahal, in Agra, India on August 2010, only three months after they first met. And all throughout their whirlwind romance, we have witnessed their beautiful love story.
Before they became a couple, however, Robin was initially married to his ex-wife Liezl Sicangco, whom he had four kids.
