It’s sad to know that some don’t respect the simplest laws implemented in our country. Some don’t even take the safety of people on the road seriously. One such law is Republic Act 10666 or the “Children’s Safety on Motorcycles Act of 2015.” The aforementioned law took effect in the whole country on May 9, 2017. To be able to “secure the safety of child passengers” on motorcycles is a good idea. Sadly, a lot of people don’t seem to take this law seriously. Likewise, photos and a video of a motorcycle driver and a little boy became online for all the wrong reasons.
On Monday, June 25, a concerned netizen shared a video of a small child riding as a passenger on a motorcycle. As can be seen, the young boy rode a motorcycle from behind while hugging his father. He did not wear a helmet.
Moreover, under the rules and regulations of Republic Act 10666, everything this father did was against the law.

According to the report of Top Gear, first offense violators will have to pay a penalty of PHP 3,000.
Likewise, second offense violators have to pay PHP 5,000.
By the third offense, you will face a penalty of a PHP 10,000 fine with a one-month suspension of your driver’s license.
Furthermore, succeeding offenses means automatic revocation of driver’s license.
As of writing, the video already gained 107,844 views, 459 shares, and over 100 negative reactions from the netizens.
