“Ate Girl” Jackque Gonzaga becomes emotional during interview with Boy Abunda

An emotional Jackque Gonzaga revealed how she feels when people criticize her for merely being a dancer.

In an interview on ABS-CBN’s “Tonight with Boy Abunda,” Ate Girl shared how happy her family is for her now that she’s slowly becoming successful. However, things turned serious when she started talking about the negative comments she has been receiving because of her job.

According to the “It’s Showtime” dancer:

“Sobrang dami mong naririnig. Ang daming sinasabi tayo. Tapos lalo ‘yung family mo po talaga nandyan lang sila. Sila lang po ‘yung pwede mong sabihan, ‘yung mapagkakatiwalaan mo sa lahat.”

Boy Abunda then asked for clarification as to what Jackque Gonzaga meant when she talked about the hardships she had to endure. She explained:

“Sasabihan ka na dancer ka lang, ba’t daw ako ‘yung pinipilit pasikatin. Bakit ako ‘yung nandon… Mga ganon po.”

When asked how she survived the insults and negativity, Jackque said she would just sometimes avoid reading the mean things that were written about her.

“Pray nalang ako, bahala kayo dyan,” she added.

Boy Abunda then asked Jackque Gonzaga why she decided to stay in the showbiz industry despite the countless criticisms that were being hurled at her.

She confidently replied with, “Ginagawa ko lang naman po ‘yung trabaho ko.”
