A day after their infamous “basketbrawl”, Gilas Pilipinas veteran and point guard Jason Castro turned to Instagram to release his official statement regarding the matter.
Jason was the first Gilas player to throw a punch at Daniel Kickert, after the 6’9 Aussie threw an elbow at Roger Pogoy.

Immediately, almost the entire bench on Gilas went after the Boomers on the court. The uneven numbers left Chris Goulding pinned on the ground by the sea of blue shirts.
Regretting his actions during the heated moment, Jason apologized to the visiting team as well as to the Filipino and Australian fans who witnessed such horrific event.
Jason’s actions last Monday night was very uncharacteristic of him since he has always kept his cool throughout his basketball career.

In the end, Jason hopes for the team and the nation to recover from such tragic game.
