In the wake of the graphic artist controversy involving Jameson Blake, who instantly became the talk of the town because of his problematic tweet, another similar story broke out on the internet. But this time, it involved a singer’s talent fee.
Recently, a singing champion named Jorell Canuel shared a lengthy Facebook post about his conversation with a female friend. This woman asked Jorell to sing on her upcoming wedding for free. According to his viral statement, musicians also share the same experience with artists who often receive unpaid labor.

Since the controversial tweet of the Hashtag member gained negative feedback from netizens, Jorell Canuel thought that this situation was becoming a trend. He didn’t expect that he would also share a similar experience with the people he read about.
“Omg! Totoo pala sila! PARANG USO BA TO LATELY?
In fact, he revealed that this situation isn’t just a one-time thing.
“Not the first time this has happened to me. Yung first time ko, na-hurt ako talaga kasi kaibigan ko siya nung highschool. Binlock din ako. As in friends, ha.

Moreover, the singing champion revealed that there were times that he would let these instances slide. In his defense, inhibition always comes first during these moments.
At the end of his lengthy Facebook rant, he finally decided to refuse people, even friends, from getting free performances from him.
