On June 29, Dennis Padilla‘s brother, comedian Gene Padilla lost his six-year-old daughter Gene Justine due to the Dengue virus.
In a recent interview with PEP, Dennis said that they are still devastated over what happened. That’s why they are now planning to regain the consciousness of the public regarding the danger of Dengue virus.
Case in point, the Padilla family plans on raising a campaign called “Tok Lamok”. Furthermore, he elaborated:
“Bale dalawa ang magiging meaning niyan, di ba, ang Tok na parang tokhang… ito, Tok Lamok, let’s eradicate o patayin natin ang mga lamok. And then Tok, which means, ‘let’s talk about it,’ pag-usapan natin.

Moreover, in the light of the recent disagreements within the Padilla family, the interviewers asked if Dennis’ children, like daughter Julia Barretto attended the wake of their cousin. In view of this, the comedian bitterly said:
“Ang binibilang ko na lang kasi, yung mga dumating. Hindi ko na lang binibilang yung mga hindi dumating kasi… Kumbaga, sa akin, hindi naman nila obligation ang pumunta, pero mas maganda sana kasi pag pamilya kayo, sa mga oras ng pagluluksa, dapat kayo magkita-kita.”

As for the actor, he felt disappointed with his children’s absence because he says such moment is the perfect time for them to show support towards their bereaved relatives.
“Actually, pag masaya naman ang tao, okay lang, tawagan lang ayos na, e. Pero pagka ganito, may tragedy sa pamilya, kailangan talaga nandun ka. Kailangan yun, e.”

Moreover, Dennis Padilla opened up that he and Julia haven’t been on good terms for a while.
“Si Julia, medyo matagal na kaming hindi nag-uusap nun, mga April yata. Busy lang, saka nagkaroon din kami ng konting tampuhan din niyan lately.“
Asked if their misunderstanding has something to do with Julia’s onscreen partner and rumored boyfriend Joshua Garcia, the comedian-actor replied.
In addition, he revealed that his daughter missed to greet him during Father’s Day. Nevertheless, in spite of having “tampo”, Dennis jokingly said:
“Saka baka wala lang siyang load that time kaya hindi niya ako na-text. “
To point out, Julia has been very busy promoting her new movie “I love you Hater”, starring Joshua and Kris Aquino.
