Netizen shares how online selling business changed her life

With the growing number of online sellers today, it can get a little intimidating for first-time entrepreneurs to do their business on the Internet. But, thanks to Haidee Sibayan, who has been in the industry since 2013, we are reminded that nothing is impossible with faith and determination. Last Wednesday, the netizen turned to Facebook to share how online selling changed her life.

Prior to the birth of their business, Sibayan and her husband had regular jobs. For her part, the wife worked in an office, where she used to sell stuff that she imports from Divisoria. On the other hand, the husband was an Overseas Filipino Worker in Korea.

Come October in 2013, Sibayan tried her luck in online selling, which was, at the time, still a new concept. After her business boomed, her husband decided to leave Korea, so he could help her in the operation.

Before they realize it, the couple needed their own vehicle to conveniently transfer their hefty bags of stocks. And so, they decided to buy a second-hand car.

They were doing well with their business until Sibayan thought about reselling to Chinese folks. It came to a point where she had to abandon her online selling for a while to focus on the new venture.

“Nagpost ako non sa Fb ko na ico-close ko muna ang online [business] ko. Nalungkot sila dahil nga inisip nila kung kanino na sila kukuha ng items. Mahirap din para sa akin na gawin ‘yon. Pero kailangan kong mag-expand. Ayoko ng ganun lang, may mas maganda pang mangyayari kung tututukan ko ang pagdedeliver sa Chinese.”

And true enough, the couple’s hard work paid off. Now, they own a total of four stores: one in Tanza, two in Divisoria, and another one in a nearby mall. Not to mention they have their dream house, personal car, and a brand new delivery van!

Before capping off her post, Sibayan shared her and her husband’s secret to success: faith.

“2013 to 2018. Ito na lahat ‘yung nagawa sa akin ng online selling. Five years ko sa pago-online. Lahat ng mga pangarap naming mag-asawa unti unti naming natupad. Ang sikreto [sa] tagumpay namin ay ‘Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed’ (Proverbs 16:3)”
