It cannot be denied that one of the most important physical appearances being constantly promoted is for women to have smooth, unblemished, and silky skin. Although many say that this is the ideal skin type for women worldwide, there are still many factors that may come in and change the way a person looks.
Because of the negative stigma when it comes to “marked” skin, especially those caused by naturally occurring factors such as pimples, freckles, and stretch marks, more and more people have been speaking out about how all skin types should be celebrated regardless of what it looks like.
Doreen Ching, a brave mother from Malaysia who recently gave birth to quadruplets became the brunt of insults and negative comments from people. After she showed off her post – pregnancy stomach that was covered in stretch marks, many people started to comment on how she looked.
In response to all the comments, she posted a follow up to share her two cents on the issue.

“I received a lot of mummies’ inquiries asking me how to eliminate the scars as you’re gonna be scarred… and that’s the price, even if you have money. There’s no way to get rid of it, and it’s like, every day, every day, every day.” Ching said.
“Only 21 at the time, I wondered how I would be able to accept my stomach looking like this for the rest of my life. The first thing I did when I got out of the delivery room was to look at my stomach and my tears came out. I was cracked up to a very serious kind of rupture and skin tissue was damaged. I see a lot of people commenting calling me ‘ugly’ and it makes me very sick so much so I want to throw up,” Ching added.
“Some men said it was all the woman’s fault for wanting to have so many kids. Do you have any respect for the women of the world? Your mother? Your wife? And a woman who can afford to have children?” she said.
Ching’s post immediately went viral and earned thousands of shares and reactions. Many people found her posts brave and shared their thoughts in the comments section as well.

“I’m proud of you… You are a mother… A good beautiful mother now… And you accept that fact that you become a mother… Not because you have stretch marks….. Some woman wanted to be a mother but they never get a chance…. God bless you and your family….” one netizen said.
“Don’t listen to the [redacted] of the Internet or in life. You have done something amazing. You brought 4 beautiful lives into this world at once. Be proud of that and listen to yourself, husband, and children when they tell you how beautiful you are. Way to stand up for yourself continue to do this and teach both your son’s and daughters how to be strong and believe in themselves no matter what others may say but most importantly how not to judge someone on looks but on their heart and actions.” another netizen wisely said.
“Depende po kc yan sa skin type ng isang babae. Kahit magbabad kapa sa oil at di magkamot kung prone to stretch mark talaga yung skin mapupunit at mpupunit yan. But i am proud of my tiger [redacted] battle marks. They’re perfect remembrance of my 2 beautiful children,” another user said.
